There is a custom, practiced by several cubicle-covered offices in the world, which people loathe, love, or simply do not understand. A tradition that, in part, requires people to arrange their wardrobe according to the dress code imparted on them Monday through Thursday by their employers. It is a ritual that tricks workers into thinking their sartorial routine is going to get the best of them, but then something magical happens. Gentlemen, release the knots from your Adam’s apples and ladies, kick off your heels and rest your feet in a pair of flats! Casual Friday has arrived!
Change Remedies Monotony
I am no longer afraid of being wrinkled! At least in terms of my clothing…the crows feet are still something that I am not quite ready for. The weather is getting warmer and buying from the spring collections, which have been sitting on shelves for the past few months, feels appropriate. I think this year is the year that I don’t just try the occasional linen, but make it a staple in my warm weather wardrobe. I am fully aware that this is no fashion epiphany to anyone, but there are ladies and gentleman in the sartorial world that feel most comfortable when their clothes are pressed and free of any imperfections. This is for you.
Fashion Fridays is in Bali!
There are staycations, vacations, getaways, sabbaticals, some of which are adventures that stay with you forever. Visits to the type of places that pictures do not do justice. No matter how hard you try, you can’t put the cultures in your pocket, neatly fold up the beaches, or stow away the people you’ve met in your luggage. The only solution is to wear the adventure and represent your experience the best way you can. On your return home, take with you the beauty of a people that live their lives just a little slower, but a lot happier than the work-obsessed masses.
The Over-Saturation of Being On-Trend
Sometimes it’s really hard to let go. Many of us are guilty of over saturating society with trends that we simply cannot let go of. Even as I type this article I am wearing my slightly oversized prescription glasses. I don’t think this is fad that will be going anywhere anytime soon, but I am starting to wonder if this is a direct result of the dork uprising in the eighties when eight “Revenge of the Nerds” movies were released.
Oh Spring, Where Art Thou?
Spring is here…almost. Many of us have been hoarding or preparing what we are going to wear when the sun finally peaks its fog veiled face. Sunday was the official start to a much-anticipated season filled with shorts, flip-flops, and the long hibernation of our winter coats – or so we thought.
