Goodnight linen, farewell flip-flops, bon voyage swim trunks…it’s been nice. Now that summer is in our rear view, we have to store all the outfits that worked so hard to keep us exposed to the sun and baked till golden brown. It’s time to make room for the bulk and layers that refuse to share precious closet space with our summer garb.

Early in the medieval age a young ambitious knight felt he wasn’t performing his duties at full capacity, mainly because of the extreme discomfort he felt beneath his armor. In order to relieve this annoyance he commissioned an artisan to make him a white cotton undershirt. The young knight was Sir Jonathan T. Shirt, who would later become king.

I have many long-term goals, and only one short-term. I know that this is the opposite of how most people organize their lives, but I’ll never claim to be organized, especially when it comes to my ambitions. My long-term goals, although very important, mean nothing to this article, so we can take the shortcut that bypasses my home in Rome, babies, wealth and power so that we can reach the very center of my immediate mission: becoming a style icon.

I’m going to a concert and I have no idea what to wear. I know, given the state that the world is in, this particular dilemma is low on the priorities list of most people. Unless, of course, you have Bieber fever; or, you happen to be me.

I learned a lot on a recent trip to Italy, but the thought that I just can’t shake is, how does everyone manage to look so good all of the time?
