It’s October, which means school is officially, officially, officially back in session and along with it are a slew of luxury, fashion, and digital events to educate and inspire. Outlined here are eight of the best global events, which just so happen to be coming up in the next few months:

1. Walpole Luxury E-Business Forum

London: October 11, 2011

Happening this week in London, the annual Luxury E-Business Forum hosted by Walpole is a business club dedicated to the British luxury industry. A full-day of presentations from brands such as Harrods, Links of London, and Vente Privée, along with industry insiders like Imran Amed (of Business of Fashion) and Tony King (of King & Partners) will be sure to make this event both insightful and inspiring. 2. Fashion Forward: Digital

New York: October 27, 2011

Hosted by our very own Elizabeth Schofield, this day-long event focused on digital marketing in the fashion industry is shaping up to be a must-attend event for fashion marketers. With an all-star speaker list from heavy-hitter digital brands like DKNY, Bergdorf Goodman, and Kate Spade along with blogger extraordinaire Leandra Medine (Man Repeller) and Yvan Rodic (Facehunter), this will be the place to be for anyone in the industry.

3. IHT Hot Luxury

São Paulo: November 10 – 11, 2011

Considered by many to be THE event within the luxury industry, this conference attracts CEOs and senior execs from the world’s most renowned luxury brands. Directed by the International Herald Tribune’s Fashion Director, Suzy Menkes, this year’s event features speakers such as Diane von Furstenburg, Carolina Herrera, Marc Puig, and many others. While not specifically focused on digital, there will certainly be attention paid to what is clearly an important topic within the world of fashion. Fashion’s Collective will be at this one, too, will you?

4. L2 Innovation 2011

New York: November 10, 2011

L2 Think Tank, the digital strategy organization led by NYU Professor, Scott Galloway, is putting on the 3rd annual iteration of its Innovation Forum. Targeted at educating and motivating business leaders, L2 calls this event “TED for Marketing.” Confirmed speakers include David Carey, the President of Hearst Magazines, Kristine Shine, VP at PopSugar Media, and Geoff Watts, founder of EDITD. While this event is less focused on the luxury industry than other L2 events, it’s sure to attract business leaders from prestige brands, media conglomerates, and academia alike…creating the perfect setting for ideas and debate.

5. Handbag Designer 101

New York: October 24, 2011

Designer newbies rejoice! This one-day conference described as providing “Insider Secrets and Tips for Designing, Making, Marketing Handbags and More” has attracted many of the best in the business as speakers. From Rebecca Minkoff’s CEO to the Wall Street Journal’s Teri Agins, this is sure to be an event with a lot of note-taking! Speaking on behalf of the digital fashion world are John Jannuzzi, Macala Wright Lee, and Sara Zucker, covering the impact of bloggers in fashion branding.

6. LeWeb’11

Paris: December 7 – 9, 2011

Le Web is considered to be Europe’s top tech event, attracting over 3,000 participants from all over the world. While not specifically focused on the luxury industry, this is the place to be for those working in a digital capacity. Speakers this year will include digital industry leaders such as Marissa Mayer (Google), Michael Arrington (TechCrunch), Jeremy Stoppelman (Yelp), Joanna Shields (Facebook EMEA), and many more.

Wondering what the luxury angle is here? Confirmed attendees include those from Richemont, Hermes, L’Oreal, Swarovski, and others.

7. Club e-Luxe

Paris: January 12, 2012

Another Paris-based event is a breakfast seminar taking place at the Ritz in Paris. These regularly scheduled events gather a mainly Europe-based group of luxury brand executives. This session will focus on “using multimedia platforms to enhance the luxury e-reputation” and will cover tablets, mobile, social, gaming, and other hot topics.

8. #luxchat

On Twitter: Third Wednesday of every month 5:30pm EST

For those unable to make it to New York, London, Paris, or any other fabulous destination, fear not! LuxChat is a live, interactive discussion that takes place on Twitter once a month. Each time features a new topic and a new guest “speaker.” Past guests included participants from Mandarin Oriental, Gilt Groupe, Lexus, Ritz Carlton, Tumi, and more.
