Owned by the LVMH group, Louis Vuitton is a French fashion house founded in 1854 in Paris.
Especially recognized for their signature monogram pattern, the brand started out by offering a signature travel trunk to upper echelon clientele in France. Beginning in 1945, the product offering was expanded to also include handbags and small leather goods.
Since the 19th century, the manufacturing of the signature travel trunks has been done by hand, with master craftsmen spending up to sixty hours per trunk.
In 2001 the brand unveiled its first piece of jewelry and now offers accessories including sunglasses and watches.
Artist partnerships have included: Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Bob Wilson.
In advertising campaigns, the brand has featured celebrities including Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Mikhail Gorbachev, Kanye West, Andre Agassi, and others.
According to a Millward Brown 2010 study, Louis Vuitton is the world’s 29th most valuable brand.
