Founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy, the French house of Givenchy is now the second largest apparel segment of LVMH, after Dior, specializing in women’s ready-to-wear and haute couture.

Renowned for feminine, modern designs that are classic yet innovative, Givenchy’s successors included both John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and now Ricardo Tisci.

Tisci’s imprint on the brand has ranged from the more mysterious and sinister, with dark and gothic-inspired touches, to space-age inspired minimalism and bold geometric patterns.

In recent news, the brand has made a bold decision to feature the first transsexual model, Lea T, in the Fall 2010 campaign.
